Roughly a dozen globally recognized halal ETFs now exist, across the major asset classes. Every one available in Canada is here, side by side.
Screening & certification
Not all ETFs are Shariah-compliant. A halal ETF has been screened to exclude companies that deal in alcohol, gambling, pork, weapons or adult entertainment, companies with excessive debt, and companies that earn too much income from interest.
Halal ETFs are audited by independent Shariah boards. Scholars review the holdings to ensure compliance.

Numbers feel certain, but they’re not.
HalalFolio shows numbers two ways. Historical returns tell you what actually happened, but past performance is no promise of future results.
It also shows forward-looking expected returns, an estimate of how each fund might perform from here. Every one is a reasoned, educated guess, never a promise. It weighs the reward against the risk using Modern Portfolio Theory, so a plan reflects a range of outcomes, not one hopeful line.
HalalFolio is a tool for self-directed investors: we show the numbers as plainly as we can, and you make your own decisions. We’re not a registered investment advisor, broker-dealer or financial planner, and none of this is personalized to your situation.
