HalalFolio is built for self-directed investors. This policy explains what information we collect, how connected brokerage data is handled, and how to contact us about privacy or support requests.

Connected brokerage informationIf you connect a brokerage account through SnapTrade, we may receive account metadata, account type, institution name, balances, cash positions, holdings, and quote or trading-readiness information needed for portfolio tracking and rebalance review.
Support and usage informationMessages submitted through our support form, screenshots or details you choose to provide, and limited analytics about how the site is used.

2. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect

To limit sensitive data exposure, HalalFolio does not ask you to provide:

  • Government ID
  • Social insurance number
  • Brokerage login password
  • Full bank account credentials
  • Personal suitability questionnaire
  • Discretionary trading authority

Brokerage authentication is handled through SnapTrade. We do not store your brokerage username or password.

3. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide account login, security, and customer support.
  • Show portfolios, connected accounts, balances, holdings, and portfolio composition.
  • Compare connected accounts against model portfolio targets.
  • Create saved rebalance reviews and show estimated trade previews for your review.
  • Check whether a connected brokerage account is ready for live trading features when you request that check.
  • Improve reliability, diagnose bugs, and understand basic product usage.

4. Service Providers

We use trusted service providers to operate HalalFolio. These may include Supabase for authentication and database services, SnapTrade for brokerage connectivity, Tally for support form submissions, Google Analytics for limited site analytics, and market-data providers for ETF and pricing information.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Security and Retention

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect account and portfolio data. No online service can guarantee perfect security, so you should use a strong, unique password and protect access to your email account.

We retain account, portfolio, and connected-account data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain security. If you request deletion, we will remove or de-identify eligible data within a reasonable period unless retention is required by law or legitimate operational needs.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information associated with your HalalFolio account. You may also disconnect brokerage connections through the product or through SnapTrade-supported connection management when available.
