HalalFolio is a portfolio research, tracking, and review tool for self-directed investors. It does not provide financial, investment, legal, tax, or religious advice, and it does not manage accounts on your behalf.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using HalalFolio, you agree to these Terms of Use, our Privacy Policy, and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Not Investment Advice

HalalFolio provides general educational information, portfolio visualization, halal screening context, model portfolio examples, and self-directed rebalance review tools. We do not provide:

  • Personalized investment recommendations or suitability assessments.
  • Buy, sell, or hold advice for any security.
  • Discretionary account management.
  • Tax, legal, accounting, or religious rulings.
  • Guarantees of returns, risk reduction, or halal status.

You are responsible for deciding whether any portfolio, ETF, rebalance preview, or trade is appropriate for you.

3. Brokerage Connections and Trade Reviews

If you connect a brokerage account, brokerage connectivity is provided through SnapTrade. You authorize the connection and the permissions you grant through that flow. Brokerage data, quotes, trading readiness, and order execution may depend on your brokerage, SnapTrade, market availability, and account permissions.

User review is required

Rebalance previews are estimates for your review. HalalFolio does not run unattended trading strategies, scheduled orders, or automated discretionary trading. Any supported order flow must be reviewed and approved by you before proceeding.

4. Accuracy, Data, and Market Risk

We strive to present useful data, but market data, holdings data, prices, quotes, performance information, screening data, and projections may be delayed, incomplete, inaccurate, or unavailable. Estimated shares and cash deployment amounts may change before any actual order is placed.

All investments involve risk, including possible loss of principal. Past performance does not guarantee future results.

5. Halal Screening Disclaimer

HalalFolio uses available information and commonly used screening approaches to help users research Shariah-conscious investing. Interpretations vary among qualified scholars and screening providers. HalalFolio does not issue fatwas or provide personal religious rulings.

6. Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining your login credentials, reviewing any connected-account permissions, verifying information before acting on it, complying with applicable laws and brokerage terms, and seeking professional advice where appropriate.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • We are not liable for investment losses, missed opportunities, tax consequences, brokerage issues, or decisions you make using information from HalalFolio.
  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free data, or successful brokerage connectivity.
  • Our aggregate liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $100 CAD.
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages.
